Starting to plan your bridal look? We’ve taken a look at the biggest wedding beauty trends for 2019, to give you some inspiration.

Choosing your wedding makeup look is another fun opportunity to add a touch of your personal style to your big day. Whether you love a classic, timeless look or prefer to keep it trendy, checking out the biggest wedding makeup trends is a great place to start.

Stand-out Feature

Whether it’s your eyes, lips, cheekbones or brows, brides in 2019 are likely to choose one feature to highlight in their bridal makeup look. Regardless of the season, embracing and enhancing your natural features is always a wedding makeup trend, while adding more emphasis to one in particular. You could go for bold lips with soft eye makeup or smokey eyes with soft lips. Whichever you choose, the key is to keep your look balanced throughout.

Glowing Skin

This year, brides are steering clear of heavy foundation coverage and upping their pre-wedding skincare routine to achieve healthy, glowing skin. We tend to use lighter formulations anyway, such as mineral powder bases, that give minimal yet buildable coverage, enhancing our brides’ and clients’ natural features. But we’re finding that more brides are relying on good skincare leading up to the big day to achieve a natural, radiant glow.

Subtle Illumination

Brides also seem to be shifting away from the ever-popular contoured look to more subtle definition and illumination techniques. Instead of a major highlight and contour look, brides are opting for a more naturally illuminated face; think fresh, dewy skin with just a subtle touch of blush.

Metallic Tones

Bronze tones in eye makeup has been one of the most popular wedding makeup trends in recent years, and it doesn’t seem to be disappearing any time soon. Last year, it was incredibly popular and adding in gold sparkles or shimmery touches will still be popular looks for this year’s brides.

Back to Neutral

In the nineties, one of the most popular makeup looks was neutral, brown tones for eyes, cheeks and lips. Fast forward twenty years or so, and we’re seeing these make a comeback, achieving the perfect natural look many brides are looking for.

Defined Brows

Bold, defined brows are still hugely popular, including when it comes to wedding makeup trends. Making sure your brows are a good shape and well-defined adds a perfectly polished, sophisticated effect to any makeup look, which is why this trend is still so popular.

Creative Liners

Apparently, brides are getting creative with graphic liner shapes, using either neutral or coloured liner to create unique designs on the eye. Inspired by the catwalks, this wedding makeup trend sees brides sporting geometric patterns and bold colour blocking to add a bit of fun and originality to their wedding makeup look.

Green-eyed…….monster!

Well, not quite! But apparently statement eyeshadow is making a comeback, and one of the biggest wedding makeup trends is for green. While some brides are still going for a natural look, others are adding a touch of forest or emerald green shadow to make their eye colour pop and make them stand-out feature of their look.

Statement Lips

For the first time in a long time, bold statement lips are becoming the highlighted feature of choice these days, thanks to red being such an on-trend lip colour. Balancing a bold lip colour with a flawless complexion and minimal, neutral eye makeup is key to nailing this look. Unsure if it would work for you? Ask your MUA to try it on you first at your makeup trial before making your decision.
